CARBON-NEUTRAL SHIPMENTS

Commencing 1 August 2022, all shipments are carbon neutral. We've partnered with the Planet app to neutralize our shipping emissions and to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Carbon removal is the process of capturing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and then storing it.

For example, if a truck and/or plane that delivers your shipment releases 1 kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, then we ensure that 1kg of CO2 is also sucked from the atmosphere and stored away using solutions and technologies in the Shopify Sustainability Fund. There is a fast-growing and evolving sector with many carbon removal technologies in different stages of development. These technologies include nature-based solutions, such as reforestation and soil carbon sequestration and more high-tech solutions, such as direct air capture and mineralization.

To estimate your emissions, we use order tracking data associated with the tracking number assigned to the shipment thus using the exact distance travelled. We remove only carbon (CO2) emissions that account for 95% of the climate impact from burning fossil fuels for transportation. Other emissions such as CH4, N2O, and GHG aren’t removed.

 

We offer Standard Shipping (lower shipping fees) to the following countries*:

Customers in China, Macau, Hong Kong and/or Taiwan (collectively “The People's Republic of China”) will continue to enjoy a low shipping fee via SF Express. Delivery is 3-5 days after the order is confirmed.


For all other countries, to ensure a fast and reliable delivery to you, we’ll continue (as a temporary measure) to only offer express courier shipping via FedEx Priority. FedEx operates privately and is able to provide a guarantee that packages will be delivered to you within 7 to 10 working days (if not sooner). We’ve negotiated special rates however these are considerably higher than Standard Shipping rates**. These rates vary depending on your region and will be quoted during your checkout process after submitting your delivery address.
