Spill the US Shipping Tea - ThePack Update

Spill the US Shipping Tea - ThePack Update

Global policy shifts can feel distant — until they land on your doorstep. The recent U.S. tariff changes may seem like just another headline, but for independent, queer-led brands like ThePack, the impact is immediate and personal. These new regulations affect how we produce, ship, and deliver the pieces you love. It’s not always easy, but challenges like these remind us why we do what we do: to show up with integrity, adapt with purpose, and stay connected to the community that makes it all worthwhile.

🌍 The Bigger Picture: When Policy Feels Personal

As of May 2, 2025, the U.S. government has implemented major tariff increases on imports from China and Hong Kong. That means higher costs on every item crossing that border — even the briefs, jocks, and harnesses meant to celebrate bodies like yours.

Where there used to be a threshold — the $800 de minimis exemption that protected low-value packages from duty fees — now there’s just… tax. A lot of it. Some items are seeing tariffs as high as 120%, with even steeper fees coming in June.

And while it’s tempting to dive into spreadsheets and policy breakdowns, we want to stay rooted in what matters: you, our community.

💬 How It Affects You (And Why It Matters to Us)

If you’re in the U.S., you’ve likely noticed that we can no longer offer free shipping. Believe us — that wasn’t an easy decision. But we’re committed to transparency, and more importantly, to protecting the quality and integrity of the pieces we design for you.

We’re not here to pass along every hardship. We're here to adapt, recalibrate, and find the best way forward — while keeping our designs bold, our standards high, and our queer values unshaken.

✨ What We’re Choosing Instead: Creativity + Care

Hardship invites reaction. But it also invites intention. At ThePack, we’re choosing to respond not with fear — but with strategy, softness, and serious problem-solving energy.

That looks like:

  • Reworking our global logistics in real-time to find the most cost-effective and reliable solutions.

  • Collaborating with our partners to keep your experience as smooth and transparent as possible.

  • Continuing to design products like The Pleasure Harness or The Raw Thong that remind us we’re still allowed to feel powerful, playful, and proud — even in uncertain times.

This isn’t just about shipping. It’s about building a brand that refuses to break when systems try to bend us.

💛 To Our U.S. Pack: Thank You

Thank you for your understanding. For your patience. For every message, every tag, every order that lets us know you’re still with us.

You’re not just buying a pair of briefs — you’re investing in a queer brand that refuses to water itself down. In a world where decisions are made without our voices, we’re choosing to show up — louder, smarter, and more intentional than ever before.

💌 Got Questions? We’ve Got You.

If you’re unsure about how these shipping updates affect you, our customer support team is ready to walk you through it. We’re not going anywhere — and neither are the products you love.

Let’s keep building. Let’s keep flexing. Let’s keep wearing our stories with pride.
